[Top 10s of 2010]: Songs
I’m not even going to try and act like this was an easy job because it wasn’t but I’ve selected my picks for the best songs that I discovered this year. Some of these songs came out before 2010; I just didn’t know about them, but now, they’re at the top of my list for the [Top Songs of 2010].
Instead of listing just 10 songs, I made a nice little playlist for you...

[Top 10s of 2010]: Collections
Each of the following collections is amazing, from the color schemes to the designs. These designers are what I consider the top tier of fashion and I think all aspiring designers should take notes from these masters. It was difficult putting these in order, but I think I’ve got them in the perfect order. Check them out.
[Disclaimer]: Some of these collections are Spring 2011 collections,...

[Top 10s of 2010]: Albums
I was always the type of guy to only listen to mainstream singles or songs that I had somehow randomly come across, but in 2010, I got into the habit of listening to full albums. It’s amazing how much more you like certain artists and how much more music you discover by listening to an artist’s music in its entirety. 2010 was certainly a huge year for music. So many artists released...

[Top 10s of 2010]: Movies
[Disclaimer]: To start, I’m just going to let you all know that these countdowns are based on MY PERSONAL OPINION. I’m not trying to get you all to agree with me, I’m just counting down my favorite things of 2010.
Now, I’ll say straight from the jump that I didn’t really stay on top of my movie game like I should have, but I got a little bit of help from two of my...

[Counting Down the Minutes & the Memories]
2010 has been an amazing year! I told myself on January 1st that this was going to be the year; the year that things take off, the year my dreams start becoming a reality, the year that my life starts. I’m happy and blessed to be able to say that I was right. God has brought so much my way this year, from personal revelations to abundant favor. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it...

A Christmas to Remember
This Christmas was literally like no other that I’ve ever experienced. For the first time in my life, my family didn’t throw it’s annual [Phillips Christmas party]. Instead, we drove up to Austin to spend time with members of our extended family. I had no idea what kind of place we were heading to. The subdivision was beautiful. It looked like some Texan prairie-land safari. It...

15th Annual [GQ Men of the Year] Party
Check out these pictures from this year’s [GQ Men of the Year] party. It was held last month on November 17th at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California. The guest list was pretty nice. Give me a few years. I’ll be on there one way or another. :v

[Drake & KiD CuDi]

[The Fantastic Four]
Last night, I finally got my hands on GQ Magazine’s December 2010 issue. For those of you who may not know, this was GQ’s 15th annual [Men of the Year] issue. This year, the magazine honored James Franco [Leading Man of the Year], Drake [Breakout of the Year], Jeff Bridges [Icon of the Year], & Stephen Colbert [Patriot of the Year] as their top 4 outstanding achievers who rocked...

The 25 Days of Christmas: [Memories]
This book means a lot to me. It holds memories of one of my favorite Christmases. I remember I had just gotten this handbook from that month’s book orders (do you guys remember those in elementary and middle school?!). I was laying on my bed, which was dressed in my new pokemon sheets and all was peaceful in the house. I remember Sandlot was on, my mother was making eggnog and she called...

The Real [Beautiful, Dark, Twisted] Fantasies
My recent visit to the Museum of Fine Arts has had me in a very [artsy] mood lately. I’ve been checking out the work of different artists and this collection from Joram Roukes certainly stood out to me. It puts Kanye’s [beautiful, dark, twisted fantasy] to shame. His works are basically painted collages, each of which features several familiar pieces of pop culture and social conflicts...

[The Lunch Menu]
After a turbulent start to the day and sitting in traffic for what seemed like forever, my mother, sister, and I enjoyed a nice lunch at Benihana in the Woodlands. The traffic actually put us there right at 2:30 when they were locking the door for their midday break, so we actually had most of the restaurant to ourselves. The service was nice, the meal was even better, and it was good to just have...

[My Day at the Museum]
Yesterday, Ugo, Marquis, and I spent the afternoon at the Museum of Fine Arts right outside of downtown Houston. It was amazing to visit so many cultures and time periods within a matter of two hours. The museum featured paintings, busts, installations, conceptual art, and so much more. It really made me appreciate my Survey of Visual Arts course, which I took during the fall 2009 semester. It was...

[La Vita] Loca
Monday night was a groundbreaking one for the younger generation of fashion heads in Houston. La Vita, a local t-shirt brand, took over Club Isis downtown and threw one of the nicest “fashion” events that I’ve ever seen [in Houston]. The venue was great, they had a good turnout, and it was nice to see a group of guys coming together to create such a nice event. My company for...

[Dangerous Housewives]
Don’t make them mad… Unlike the Real Housewives, these ladies don’t fight with words. These are some of my favorite selections from oil painter Kelly Reemtsen’s portfolio. I’m sure they’re not meant to be seen in a vicious way, but my interpretation gave me [stepford wives’ revenge] (especially after reading some of their titles). Regardless of their...
