[Party (Beyoncé Cover)]
[Eliza Doolittle]

My friend Keith over at [TheNynthLife] is one person that I always respect when it comes to music. He takes every element of the industry seriously, and even though we disagree on a number of topics, I respect his opinions. Last night, he sent me this cover to check out and I was pleased with the performance. I did find a few parts that I wasn’t crazy about, but I like her voice and the smooth spin they put on the song, especially in the chorus. I think they background singers could have harmonized with her a little more, but all in all, I approve. #goodstuff

[Reebok x Basquiat]: 2009

Back in the summer of 2009, Reebok dropped a cool, little capsule collection honoring the late, great Jean-Michel Basquiat. I think it was a great way to pay tribute to one of the 20th century’s most iconic artists. There were a few different looks released and the brand released a few more Basquiat-themed pieces later down the line. I think these ones are pretty interesting. Check them out.

[Need You Tonight]
[Liv Tyler]
[For the
Very Irrésistible Givenchy Electric Rose Campaign]

I heard about this a little while back, but I’ve finally watched the full thing and I like it. Now, I’m not saying that Liv Tyler needs to make a permanent move from in front of the camera to behind the mic, but I think she sold it with this one. She looks good and sounds pretty good too, considering what type of music she’s singing. I guess a little bit of that swagger from her father, Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), rubbed off on her.

This song is actually a cover version of the 1987 hit originally released by the Australian band INXS (pronounced “in excess”). The video, which dropped last month, was shot by Johan Renck and is the product of a collaboration between Givenchy and Sony Music. I think it’s a pretty cool campaign. The product, for those of you who don’t know, is Very Irrésistible Givenchy Electric Rose, a new take on an old fragrance, released just in time for the Spring 2012 season. Check out the official video for the campaign above.

[Otis (Freestyle)]
[Justin Bieber]
[Power 106 FM]

I love seeing modern artists and public figures crossing “boundaries” that today’s genres establish. Just like the video I posted earlier today of Jeannie Mai doing the Dougie, this video really makes me happy to see. I enjoy witnessing artists move from one category, like pop, to a completely different one, like hip hop. Even if they’re not trying to release an album or anything like that, it’s awesome to see an interest and appreciation for another type of art outside of their own. Justin wrecked this little “freestyle” of his. He makes me want to pick up a mic. Check it out.

[Jeannie Mai Learns to Dougie]

So, I’ve been watching this ANTM marathon on the Style Network and, during the commercial breaks, they’ve been showing clips of Kimora Lee Simmons and this amazing young woman that I’ve fallen for. Her name is Jeannie Mai and she’s the host of How Do I Look. She is so cool and down to earth. On top of that, she’s beautiful and looks like she belongs on the Style Network. Her personality is magnetic and she’s got an edge to her that is razor sharp. I found this video that sealed the deal for me.
